How Premium SSL installation works on OneNet Servers
Applies to: Customers who have purchased a Premium SSL certificate rather than using the default free Let's Encrypt certificate.
Premium SSL follows a different flow from the free SSL that is included with most hosting plans. This guide explains what happens after purchase.
Before you start
- Make sure the Premium SSL order has been placed and paid.
- Keep access to the domain validation email or DNS method that will be used for validation.
Steps on OneNet Servers
- Complete the order for the Premium SSL certificate.
- Follow the validation instructions sent for the certificate type you selected. This may involve email approval, DNS validation, or file-based validation.
- Once the certificate is issued, install it on the target hosting service or ask support to confirm the install path if the certificate was ordered separately from the hosting plan.
- Retest the website on https after installation and clear any mixed-content warnings inside the application if needed.
What you should see next
- The certificate should show as valid in the browser and match the domain name it was issued for.
- HTTPS should load without warning after the site finishes serving the new certificate.
Common issues
- Premium SSL issuance will not complete until validation succeeds.
- Premium SSL does not replace the need to fix mixed-content warnings inside your website or application.
