When to order a Premium SSL certificate

Applies to: Customers comparing the default free Let's Encrypt path with a paid SSL certificate.

Most OneNet hosting customers do not need to buy Premium SSL because free Let's Encrypt is already available for standard website encryption.

What to know

  • Use the free SSL path when you want normal browser trust and routine HTTPS for a standard website.
  • Choose Premium SSL only when a paid certificate is a real requirement for brand, validation, warranty, or a client contract.
  • Premium SSL should be treated as a separate product decision, not the default path for every hosting account.
