Set up an auto-reply mailbox in Plesk

Applies to: Mailboxes managed in Plesk on OneNet Servers.

Use an auto-reply when you want incoming senders to receive an automatic response while you are away or handling messages on a schedule.

Before you start

  • Confirm the mailbox already exists.
  • Prepare the subject line and message text before you start.

Steps on OneNet Servers

  1. Log in to Plesk and open Mail.
  2. Choose the target email address and open its auto-reply or autoresponder settings.
  3. Enable the auto-reply option and enter the subject and message body.
  4. Use plain, direct wording so the message is readable in more mail clients.
  5. Save the mailbox settings and send yourself a test message from an external address.

What you should see next

  • The mailbox should send the auto-reply to qualifying incoming messages after the next mail check.

Common issues

  • If forwarding and auto-reply are both enabled, test the behavior so you do not create a confusing mail loop or duplicated workflow.

When to contact support: Contact support if the mailbox saves correctly in Plesk but never sends the auto-reply to external senders.
